Past EDFC Events and Workshops:

Tuesday, Oct 15th – Join us for a live demo of our new ZoomProspector site!

We will be joined by Jeff Suneson, from GIS Planning, Inc. to demo EDFC’s new ZoomProspector website which provides instant access to powerful business and community information. Using GIS software, EDFC’s new site provides in‐depth information that would normally take weeks to research.

EDFC’s ZoomProspector site goes far beyond a simple database of available commercial sites and buildings. It provides dynamic mapping layers including local zoning, New Market Tax Credit and Opportunity Zones, and environmental information like coastal and flood zones.

Start-up and expanding business owners can now find available properties, along with zoning information and market data they need to find the right location. Corresponding demographic reports such as labor force, education levels, consumer spending, and age can be created for the county, cities, and custom-selected geographic areas. In addition, businesses are mapped by industry showing their distribution and concentrations throughout the county.

June 5th  – Free Webinar: OppSites PlaceMaking Marketplace

As your link to economic development tools and organizations, EDFC partnered with OppSites to bring you a free webinar on how to use their new tool.

In order to help promote Opportunity Zones in California, the State has contracted with OppSites to provide an online platform that connects businesses, developers, and economic opportunities with investors and Qualified Opportunity Funds across the nation.

Oppsites can help promote business, housing development, and real estate opportunities (regardless of whether they are in an Opportunity Zone) and keep our public-private partners informed of opportunities to improve the places we live, work, invest, and do business.

The webinar included an online demonstration of OppSites and a “how to” on using the site for your projects.
